VBS 2017

Vacation Bible School Recap:

Thank you to all the families that sent their children to this year’s Vacation Bible School, “A Mighty Fortress” from July 31-August 4 and thank you to all the volunteers who helped make VBS possible with hours of efforts before and during the week and thanks to everyone who donated food and materials to help make this week possible.

About 30 children, more than half of which came from families outside of Grace, attended VBS and learned songs, heard Bible stories, watched skits, made crafts, played games and had great snacks all based around the theme of “A Mighty Fortress.”  Children learned about how God provided for Joshua, Hezekiah and Josiah in the Old Testament and how Jesus came to Earth to die for our sins and provide us salvation through his resurrection. Every day we opened and closed with prayers and songs in front of our castle setting and we had many families visit us for our closing program.

We also collected an offering during the week for Pastor Ryan McDermott, who is serving in West Africa and working in a school for the deaf. We had set a goal to raise $150 and we were able to collect $155 to donate to Pastor McDermott!

Thanks to everyone who helped make “A Mighty Fortress” a great week!
